Abstract

A method is presented to determine the onset and termination of the wet season, based on forward and backward accumulation of 10 day (decade) rainfall totals. Morris and Zandstra (1979) choose 75 mm accumulated of rainfall as the onset time for the growing season for dry seeded crops, and 200 mm accumulated rainfall for initiation of pudling (wet land preperation of rice fild)The propose of the research is determination of planting season and time of planting low land rice (Oriza sativa Linn) at Lempake village. The research conducted from July until Setember 2012Result of this research showed that  planting season of lowland rice begins at decade III January until decade l November and the first planting time begins Januari and second in May.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the growth and productivity of low land rice, Inpari 14 variety managed under the integrated farming system (PTT) and to conduct its feasibility analysis with the same system.  The research used Randomized Block Design (RBD) non factorial consisting of 9 treatments and 3 replications.  The treatments used, namely: control (“square” style of plant spacing 20cm x 20cm, transplanting 17 days after sowing, 3 seedlings per planting hole, and no manure); PTT 1 (square plant spacing 20cm x 20cm, transplanting 15 days after sowing, one seedling per planting hole, and 1 t ha-1 manure); PTT 2 (“legowo style” of plant spacing of 2:1, transplanting 15 days after sowing, planting one seedling per planting hole, and 1 t ha-1 manure); PTT 3 (square plant spacing of 20cm x 20cm, transplanting 15 days after sowing, 2 seedlings, and 1 t ha-1 manure); PTT 4 (legowo spacing of 2:1, transplanting 15 days after sowing, planting 2 seeds per planting hole, and 1 t ha-1 manure); PTT 5 (square planting spacing of 20cm x 20cm, transplanting 15 days after sowing, planting one seed per planting hole , and 2 t ha-1 manure); PTT 6 (legowo spacing 2:1, transplanting 15 days after sowing, planting one seed per planting hole, and 2 t ha-1 manure); PTT 7 (square planting spacing of 20cm x 20cm, transplanting 15 days after sowing, 2 seeds per planting hole, and 2 t ha-1 manure), and PTT 8 (legowo spacing of 2:1, transplanting 15 days after sowing, 2 seeds per planting hole, and 2 t ha-1 manure).  Results showed that an increase in production of 0.9 t ha-1 or 17.33 percent of the rice attained by PTT 8 treatment compared to the control with each production 5.25 t ha-1 and 4.34 t ha-1.  There were trends that the dried husk rice results ha-1 of legowo cropping systems, namely PTT 2 (4.96 t ha-1), PTT 4 (5.21 t ha-1) , PTT 6 (4.13 t ha-1), and PTT 8 (5.25 t ha-1) had a higher yield than the PTT tile systems treatment, namely PTT 1 (3.18 t ha-1); PTT3 ( 4.13 t ha-1); PTT 5 (4.17 t ha-1), and PTT 7 (4.19 t ha-1).  The PTT 8 treatment gave profit per hectare of Rp. 16,171,057 (Sixteen Million One Hundred Seventy One Thousand Fifty Seven Rupiah) that was higher compared to control of Rp. 13,002,557 (Thirteen Million Two Thousand Five Hundred Fifty Seven Rupiah)                                          that mean the PTT 8 treatment provided increased revenue by 20%

Abstract

This study aims to determine the technical implementation of Rainfed Rice Farming in the village of Tumih Wanaraya, to determine the costs, revenues and profits in the rainfed of rice farming the village of Tumih Wanaraya, to know Factors Affecting the Production of rainfed rice farms in the village of District Tumih Wanaraya. In This research used the survey method and observation technique. sampling using simple random sampling technique. In this research consisted  of 300 populations.  From each of these respondent farmer to be sampled 10%, the sample total of 30 people.The result of the study, indicated that Production obtained from  30 farmers respondents rice farming, amounting to 190.00 tonnes with productivity of 2.91 tonnes / ha. profit of local rice farming in the rainfed,  Tumih village during the production process is Rp 231,699,665.00  with - average of Rp 7,723,322.17 / farmers. Simultaneously  production factors the rice local  of rainfed land, the value of F-hit. 0,01 (97.74764)> F-table 0:01 (2.142), whole  of independent variables affecting on dependent variable. Partially influence of land area (X1) showed highly significant effect on the resulting production at 99% confidence level, it is seen from the value of t-hit (3.4479627)> t-tab 12:01 (2,457). Kapur (X2), based on the results of the regression analysis, these factors greatly influence the production on the 99% confidence level, for the value of t-hit (3.1487626)> t-tab value of 0:01 (2,457). Fertilizer (X3) this factor showed significant effect on the level of confidence (95%), the production due to the results of the analysis indicate that the value of t-hit (1.2520643)> t-table 0.05 (1.697). Manpower (X4), this factor indicates the effect is not significant to the production level of 95% as the value of t-hit (0.8054875) <t-table 0:05 (1,697).

Abstract

White-egg flour is refined food product, it’s make from white-egg, because oats has high price and for minimize about oats import, so making flour has combine with duck egg and chicken egg and ras chicken egg. White-egg flour has made from material local basic with 2 type egg for develop utilization egg waste and for chance to develop entrepreneurship. This research implemented at Laboratory Technology Food Medical of Polytechnic Nutrient Banjarmasin, Laboratory Microbiology and Analysis Material/Product Industry Agriculture Faculty Unlam Banjarbaru. It’s call with Plan Complete Random (RAL). Observation for nutrient substance content, such as test about protein content and water content. Result about research is for analysis nutrient content give best result about the type duck egg than chicken and ras chicken egg. For analysis protein content, duck egg 86,7319%, chicken egg 86,4680%, ras chicken egg 85,5791% and for water content has the best to ras chicken egg around 8,7206% and duck egg 8,1789% and chicken egg 7,9552%

Abstract

Towards of coconut water ripe treatment, and how much ripe coconut water concentration which is good for that, also how both treatment interaction to growth and yield of cucumber. This experiment was conducted from March to May 2012 at the Sempaja street, TVRI building komplex, Samarinda. The experiment was arranged in Completely Randomized Design (CRD) factorial 3 x 6 with 5 replication. The first factor was cucumber varieties (M), i.e. Hercules (m1), Harmony (m2) and Magic (m3). While the second factor was ripe coconut water concentration (K), i.e. 0% (k0l), 10% (k1), 20% (k2) , 30% (k3), 40% (k5), and 50% (k6). Data was analyzed using analysis of variance and continued by Least Significant Different (LSD) of 5%. Results of the experiment showed that : (1) cucumber varieties was hight significantly different on plant height at 10 and 15 days after planting, the number knuckle plant at 20 days after planting, and fruit diameter. Cucumber varieties significantly different on plant height at 20, 25 and 30 days after planting, total fruit per plant, and fresh weight fruit per plant. Cucumber varieties was not significantly different on the knuckle plant at 30 days after planting, the first harvest, the last harvest, and fruit length. The highest of fresh weight fruit at Harmony with 1996,43 grams; (2) the ripe coconut water concentration was very significantly different on plant height at 10, 15, 20 and 25 days after planting, the number knuckle plant at 20 and 25 days after planting. Ripe coconut water concentration was significantly different on the plant height at 30 days planting. Ripe coconut water concentration was not significantly different on the first harvest, the last harvest, total fruit, fruit length, fruit diameter and fresh weight fruit per plant. The highest of fresh weight fruit at concentred 10% with 1945,84 grams: and (3) the interaction between both cucumber varieties and ripe coconut water concentration treatment was not significantly different to all observation variable.

Abstract

The Study substitute Fish Meal with Maggot Meal Black Soldier Fly (Hermetia illucens) Appearance Against Quail (Coturnix coturnix japonica) was carried out at 36 Jalan Palasari Waas RT. 1 RW. 4 Rural District Sukasari Pameungpeuk Bandung regency, West Java, which runs from January to February 2012. The research aims to  determine the substitution of fish meal with maggot meal Black Soldier Fly (Hermetia illucens) the appearance of the female quail in the growth phase. The design used in this study is completely randomized design (CRD) with four replications per treatment 5 replicates consisted of 10 female quails so that the whole 200 tail. As for treatment, namely R1 (16.00% + 0% fish meal flour maggot), R2 (12.00% + 6.47% fish meal flour maggot), R3 (8.00% + 12.94% fish meal flour maggot ), R4 (4.00% + 19.41% fish meal flour maggot), and R5 (0% fish meal flour maggot + 25.88%), with an average initial body weight of 48.01 grams / tail-old 3 weeks. The results showed that the substitution of fish meal with maggot meal significantly (P <0.05) in female quail consumption. While the weight gain, feed conversion and weight gain end female quail had no significant effect (P <0,05).

Abstract

The objective of the research is to study the effect of Manure and Nutrisi Saputra fertilizers as well as their interaction on the growth and yielf of tomato plant and to find out the kind of manure fertilizers and Nutrisi Saputra concentration that affect high yield of tomato plant.The research was carried out in Experiment Garden of Agriculture Faculty University of 17 Agustus 1945 Samarinda. It lasted for three months (August 2009 to October 2009). The Completely Randomized Design was employed applied for this research with factorial analysis 3 x 4 and 5 replications. The first factor was kind of manure fertilizer (K) consisted of 3 levels : no manure fertilizer (k0), chicken manure 1 kg polybag-1 (k1), and cow manure 1 kg polybag-1 (k2); and the second factor was the formulasi on Nutrisi Saputra (N) consisted of 4 levels : no Nutrisi Saputra (n0), 0,5 ml liquid : 1,5 g powder : 2,5 liter water (n1); 1 ml liquid : 3 g powder : 5 liter water (n2), and 1,5 ml liquid : 4,5 g powder : 7,5 liter water (n3). Results of research that the kind of manure fertilizer and concentration of Nutrisi Saputra as well as their interaction affected significantly to very significantly on the growth and yielf of tomato plant. The highest production of fruit was attained on combination of chicken manure fertilizer 1 kg polybag-1 and formulasi of Nutrisi Saputra 0,5 ml liquid: 1,5 g powder: 2,5 liter water namely 62,00 g plant-1.

Abstract

Objectives of the study are: (1) to determine the role of farmer groups within the frame of  farmer empowerment towards self-reliance, (2) to determine the level of independence of farmers in farming, and (3) designing a model of human resource development to realize the independence of farmers through farmer empowerment in farmer groups. This study conducted in Tana Tidung Regency from July until December 2011 since preparation to report writing. Activities in the study include: preparation, field observations, field research (primary and secondary data collection), tabulation and processing of data, analysis and interpretation, and reporting. The study population was a group of farmers in the Tana Tidung.  Study sample is a group of farmers at production centers of rice and secondary food crops.  As the unit of analysis (or sampel) is the individual farmer for each farmer groups. The collected data were tabulated and analyzed descriptively qualitative.  To determine the role of farmer groups in increasing independence, a Spearman rank correlation test (rs) is applied, while to determine the level of independence of farmers conducted in scoring with provisions or categorized as: high, medium and low. The study results show that: (1) the degree of independence of farmer groups in Tana Tidung classified as moderate, (2) the dominant role of farmer groups is a function of the dynamics of working together, as farmers appreciate the similarities and togetherness, a dynamic working groups for social capital face the next farm independence, amid the challenges of price uncertainty and the environment, (3) effective extension methods applied to existing farmer groups in Tana Tidung are: training and visits extension models and models of field school, and (4) Synergy between government service and the role of farmer groups must be strengthened that include: strengthening the personnel and farmers resource, the creation of a stable food security, availability of adequate agricultural infrastructure, and formation of a strong agribusiness institutions.
